In-house games: All of the non-varsity levels will be in-house (non-travel) teams.  These teams will have two practices a week and one game against the other players at their age level.  All players will be placed on even teams and will practice with their team. We will try to make the teams “Regional” based on the address of the players.  For example, the will try to keep the Moorhead players together, the Fargo players and the West Fargo players.  This may not be possible in all cases but that will be the goal.  A lot of this will depend on the numbers of the players.  The teams will play a game against another team from there age group once a week

Co-Ed: Another big change is that have changed the 8U and 10U programs to Co-Ed.  This means that girls and boys will play together on mixed teams. All teams at 8U and 10U will play by the age-appropriate boys' rules. This change will not affect the boys' players but will require the younger girls to have more equipment.  All of the equipment requirements are explained in the program description.

Try it free:  We one last 'Try It Free' session in March.  The past events have been going very well; we have had new players play the game at each session.  With the addition of the Refer a friend promotion, these would be great times to introduce a new player to the game.  The last session is scheduled for, March 10th 2018 form 11-12 PM at the Metro Rec Center in Fargo.

Please direct any questions that you have to   and someone will respond as soon as possible.

Spring 2018 Travel Lacrosse

Spring 2018 Travel Lacrosse - Tryout sign up deadline March 19th

Spring travel tryout sign up

Please use the link above if you would like to try out for the Spring travel team.

In-house league registration is required for tryout registration.

Tuesday, March 20th & Thursday, March 22nd:

  • 10U 5:30-6:30
  • 12U 6:30-7:30
  • 14U 7:30-9:00

IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE THE TRY OUT DATE OR TIME, you need to be registered and another time will be set for your players' evaluation.

Announcing Exciting Changes to Travel Lacrosse:  To increase our player base and to continue the tradition of competitive Polars lacrosse alive we are switching to a two-tier league system in the association.  All players will participate in the In-house league for their age group. The In-house practices and games will work on fundamentals and skill development. If the player chooses he/she can try out for the travel teams.  The travel teams will have additional practices and will have weekend games and tournaments.

The travel teams will be formed by a tryout based selection process.  The players will be evaluated by knowledgeable lacrosse coaches and placed on teams with players of similar skill.  The number of teams will be determined by the number of players that try out at each age group.  There will be 1 A team and as many B teams at each level that are needed. Tentatively the A teams will play in the GNLL in MN and the B team(s) will play in the DPLL in North and South Dakota.  We will work on getting the schedules posted ASAP.

All players are required to purchase a reversible pinnie.  Players participating in a travel team are required to purchase an additional shooter shirt and shorts and can continue using the reversible pinnie from In-house league.  Jersey numbers will be assigned based on the player age.

Players participating in Travel Lacrosse are committing to a being part of a competitive team.  To support the Polars Travel Teams, we are asking all participating players and families to make Polars a priority and not let other sports interfere with practice and/or game attendance.  The commitment of every player on the travel teams is imperative to the success of the team and tournaments that Polars have committed to.  Since these teams are designed to be competitive, it is requested that you make this team top priority when scheduling your spring events.

Player purchase uniform program

Player purchase uniform program

With the growth of the Polars lacrosse program the board needed to address the need for more team jerseys.  After discussing all options we have decided that we will implement a player purchases program for travel teams 10U - 16U. The varsity boys and girls will use the existing game day jerseys.

Each player on a Polars travel team will be asked to purchase there own pinnie,  game shorts, and shooter shirt.  These will last your child for 2+ years depending on growth and appearance.

We are negotiating with the vendor on pricing but the total will be less than $95.00 per player.

View the detailed pdf of the new designs.

Please check out the vendor that we choose to design and produce the jerseys, UNRL out of the Twin Cities.

More information coming soon!
